Mark Andrews is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group of Pugh, Jones, Johnson & Quandt, P.C. He concentrates his practice in commercial products liability, employment, professional negligence and complex civil and white collar litigation. He serves as counsel to a wide range of companies and their executives, professionals, government bodies, and institutions of higher learning.

Experience: |
• Representation of major corporations in professional negligence claims.
• Representation of corporate individuals under investigation.
• Representation of corporations and the City of Chicago in malicious prosecution claims.
• Defense of the City of Chicago and five individual officers and detectives in the jury trial of malicious prosecution and conspiracy claims brought by prominent former death row inmate, Anthony Porter. Mr. Porter spent over 16 years in prison after being convicted for a double homicide that occurred in 1982. He was released in 1999 after a group of Northwestern journalism students intervened on his behalf and obtained a confession from another individual. Mr. Porter’s case has been cited frequently as an example by advocates for death penalty reform; it was a subject of questioning of United States Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts at his Senate confirmation hearings. The Pugh, Jones, Johnson & Quandt trial team won a complete defense verdict.
• Representation of The Chicago Housing Authority in a 7,500+ plaintiff “mass action” seeking over $500 million for damages stemming from environmental claims.
• Representation of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in negligence and wrongful death claims.
• Representation of significant corporations in employment law litigation and retaliatory discharge.

At the University of Illinois, where he earned his J.D., Mr. Andrews was selected to join The Elder Law Journal, was then published with the Journal, and later served as its editor. Recognizing these achievements as well as academic performance, the College of Law awarded Mr. Andrews a Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Publications and a CALI Award.
